Located just over an hour from Dublin, Glasson is blessed with a stunning Lakeside setting – magnificent views over Lough Ree with spectacular scenery from every hole on the Golf Course. With a superb 65 Bedroom on-site, the Four Star Hotel Glasson is ideally placed as a ‘stop-over’ for the Golfer travelling across the Country or for anyone looking for a short break Golfing destination, close to Dublin.

Glasson opened up in 1993 and was designed by Irish golfer and Ryder Cup Player, Christy O’Connor Junior. O’Connor, who persuaded farmer Tom Reid to develop the course described it as “one of the most scenic pieces of land I’ve ever seen in my life” – with the first nine holes overlooking Lough Ree and the second nine Killinure Bay. “There is nothing I’ve seen that comes close”.
It is a spectacular Parkland Course with over, 7,200 yards, par 73, with holes that will challenge and excite all levels of golfers. The signature hole is the 15th with Tee Box and Green set in the Water – one of the most photographed holes in Irish Golf.

Glasson’s quality was recognised by the IGTOA (Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association) when it was awarded the prestigious ‘2011 IGTOA Golf Resort of the Year’ title.
The walk from the friendly pro shop at Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club to the first tee takes about 30 seconds. But it’s a 30 seconds that you will not forget. The view includes the ‘back 6′ holes looking out to Killinure Bay, which is part of Lough Ree, sets you up for a day of spectacular golf in a stunning setting.

When it comes to par-5s at Glasson, you’re spoilt for choice. The 14th, at 566 yards is a superb three-shot hole and one of the top par-5s in Ireland. The drive must be straight or you’ll be OOB with the dairy cattle. However, those brave enough to take on the bunker at the corner of the dog-leg and make the shot will be justly rewarded. The view from the elevated tee is one of the best on the course—and that’s saying something! The second shot is no less demanding; you’ll have to thread your shot between a waste area to the left and a lake to the right. The approach must give the water to the left of the green a wide berth.
There is little doubt that Glasson is one of Westmeath’s best known golf gems and a real must-do on the Irish golf circuit.
